Ocean State Job Lot employee and TMHS Senior Brandon Smith has been named the Three Square Meals Food Ambassador by the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation. David Sarlitto, executive director of the OSJL foundation, said,  “For the past 14 years, Ocean State Job Lot’s Three Square Meals program has been helping to keep food banks stocked with truckloads of donations of nutritious, shelf-stable food. Our Food Ambassador program allows us to acknowledge and recognize their personal contributions and actions that inspire others.” Smith, as well as several other national employees, received the title, which was  comes with a signed letter and a gift card. According to Smith, “What is even the point, I mean I don’t get a promotion and never got the Gift Card, and all I do is take expired food off the shelves, and throw it in a box.” The honor bestowed upon Smith seems to have no significance to the humble Job Lot employee, who is “Just there because (he) likes (his) co-workers.”
