Fall sports are now in full swing and many of the Redmen teams are doing very well. The Redmen Football Team has lived up to the hype so far this season with an outstanding record of 2-0 defeating both Lawrence (35-6) and Methuen (31-30). This Redmen roster is full of Seniors. The Captains are Jay Connolly, Kyle Zervas, Jack Kelly, Trace Trant, and Zach Weitz. The Seniors and these Captains especially will play a big role for this team as not only players but as leaders. Jack Kelly says, “Everyone has to be led and you have to be the one doing the leading and not follow those who are above you and it’s a little difficult.” Kelly also talks about how this group is special and how they are a very tightly knit group. He stated, “I think this could be the best team chemistry we’ve had in a while…We’ve all grown up together and played football together. There is really no conflict going from the Seniors all the way down to the Freshmen.” Finally, Kelly speaks for the whole football team when he says the team is very excited about how the first two games have gone but now all the focus is on these upcoming weeks as they take on BC High and North Andover. After a good week of preparation, the Redmen Football Team will be playing BC High at James Cotter Field so make sure you show up and show your support.
