Euphoria has recently become one of the most popular shows on TV, specifically HBO Max. Season 1 was released in June 2019. Three years later, they released episode 1 of season 2 on January 9, 2022. So, season 2 has been out for about a month now and has gotten the best response possible. A new episode gets released every Sunday night at 9pm. It is most commonly watched on HBO Max, but may be available on Amazon Prime and Hulu. Currently there are 6 episodes out right now for the second season.

The show is about a 17 year old girl in highschool. Her name is Rue. Season 1 episode 1, ̈Pilot ̈, starts out with a narrative of her childhood. As a young girl, around the age of 8-10, she was seeing a therapist with her parents because they thought she may have had anxiety or depression. Her therpist also thought the same thing. After this we see Rue leaving rehab. She was put there because she had unfortunately overdosed that prevoius summer. Just like you would think, her mom would drug test her urine, but Rue would always use a bottle of a friends to make her mom think she was wrong about Rue continuing to use. Throughout the first season we see her struggle with drugs, especially because she had no real plan or any goals to stay clean.

The major turning point for Rue was when she met Jules. Jules is a new girl to the town. The first time Rue saw Jules she was in the backseat of her moms car heading home, then she noticed a girl with blonde and pink hair riding a bike into a driveway. It caught her attention. They really started to become close in the third episode of season 1, ̈Made You Look ̈. Once they were close enough, Jules convinced Rue to stay clean for her. So, throughout the first season she did.

Season 2 was definitely a rollercoaster. It starts off fine and everyones lives were going fine. Rue had some girls she became closer friends with. Maddy Perez, Cassie and Kat. They are also main characters in the show but had never really been shown together, just at parties. Maddy had a boyfriend named Nate and they were very toxic but could never really let eachother go. Overtime they give up and Cassie, Maddys best friend ends up dating him. Before they were dating Cassie would spend a few hours each morning trying as hard as she could just for Nate to notice her. At this point Maddy and her other friends had no idea what was going on between the two of them. Nate had been upset with Cassie for awhile, thinking she was in the wrong since Maddy was her best friend, but it was them both. As they date, Cassie was trying so hard to be like Maddy, but she couldn ́t. They broke up shortly after they started dating, which was expected.

The finale episode of Euphoria, ̈All my life, My heart had yearned for a thing I cannot name ̈, was just released 2/27/2022. It was a very intense episode. Cassies sister, Lexi, had made up a whole play about Cassies life as well as her friends. This was the night that Nate broke up with Cassie because he has had enough. It was never meant to work out between them since Cassie wanted to date her best friends ex. Overall this show is truly amazing and you can see how much the characters go through and the change in each of them.
