As the school year comes to a close, the graduating class of 2016 approaches the end of their time at TMHS and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.  Reflecting on their high school experience, graduating seniors provide insight to their time at TMHS, thank the faculty members that enabled them to succeed, and relay advice to underclassmen on how to better the remainder of their high school years.

Words to describe your experience at TMHS?

Kaley O’Neill:

It was fun. There were some good times, there were some bad times. The fan sections at the football games were really fun.

Nicole Broderick:

It was alright; it could have been better. We had some good times, but a lot of them were outside of school. I really liked going to all the sports games.

Amanda Rekkbie:

It’s cliche but the friends I’ve made have really defined my experience here.

Anything you want to say to the staff?

Ellen Aron:

Thanks to all the teachers that stayed before of after school to give extra help.

Karima Zahiri:

Have extra help after school. Oftentimes students, especially freshmen year, won’t have rides before school if their parents work, so after school works great.

Any staff members you want to thank?

Emily Velozo:

Ms. Smallidge is the best hands down.

Julia Gouviea:

Can we thank Moffat for existing? And also Lapierre for being crazy yet wicked supportive all the time.

Karima Zahiri:

Ms. Bierman for being an awesome history teacher and a great person overall; she is life goals. Shelly Galusha for always being there for everyone, listening to all of your problems, and being willing to help bring up your grade if you’re really struggling.

Meagan Timmins:

I definitely want to thank Ms. Bierman. I also want to thank Desjardins for making English interesting, and just everything in general interesting, along with supporting the tennis team by coming to our senior night.

Advice for underclassmen?

Justin Petrie:

If you have a problem go to Ms. E.; she’s the only one that knows how to do everything. Definitely apply for scholarships because you will be broke.

Meagan Timmins:

Know what you can handle in terms of schoolwork. Have a good relationship with your teachers, but don’t be fake if you dislike a teacher.

Nicole Broderick:

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Karima Zahiri:

Take APs but be smart about which APs you take. Plan your schedule extremely well.

Julia Gouveia:

Do not procrastinate. And become friends with your teachers; it’s probably the best thing you can do. They can give you advice about not only the class, but about life in general.

Best lesson you’ve learned from TMHS?

Briana Higgins:

That I can function after all-nighters.

Karima Zahiri:

How to choose your friends wisely.

Julia Gouveia:

How to talk to people and not care anymore.

Final words of wisdom?

Briana Higgins:

Good luck with the waterfall schedule! I’m not even in the classes, but the color-coded chart scares me.

Justin Petrie:

Get involved with sports and/or other extracurriculars.

Amanda Rekkbie:

Life goes by too fast; enjoy it while you can because you’ll graduate before you know it.

Kaley O’Neill:

Don’t care what people think; they are all irrelevant.

Congratulations to the Class of 2016
